Documents required for updating PAN Card

  • Copy of Adhar Card
  • Copy of Driving License

The following documents will be needed in case of a change in name of married women

  • Marriage certificate or
  • Marriage invitation card or
  • Copy of passport showing husband’s name
  • Publication of name change in the official gazette or
  • Certificate issued by a Gazetted officer (only for change in applicant’s name)
  • Copy of Adhar Card bearing the address of Applicant
  • Copy of Driving License bearing the address of Applicant
  • Copy of Passport bearing the address of Applicant
  • Copy of Voter ID bearing the address of Applicant
  • Copy of bank account statement bearing the address of residence of Applicant


If we define PAN, it is Permanent Account Number. A 10 digit alphanumeric code, first 5 alphabets, 4 numbers and one alphabet at last (like AAAPC9999P).

Anyone above 18 years old can apply for a PAN card.
